A week ago I was able to photograph the Red Sticks Mom Bloom event at the Baton Rouge General. It’s an event mainly for expectant mamas where they try different products all about baby, register to win amazing prizes, meet vendors and newborn professionals, and hang out with other mamas and friends for a fun night out.
I haven’t had that much experience with photographing nighttime events, so when my friend and fellow photographer Christie Reinhardt called me with the opportunity, I got a bit nervous. She was supposed to photograph the event along with someone else, but Christie had a family emergency and would not be able to make it. Could I fill in for her, she asked?
Oh, my Christie. Ummm, you want me? Where is it? What is it? It’s TONIGHT?!! Are you kidding? Uhhh, can I think about it a little while and let you know? Ok, if you absolutely can’t do it, I will do it for you. Yes, on the day of! Am I crazy?! haha
Christie is an amazing mama of three, with no lack of skill or confidence. She is also a great photographer! (Check out her work at www.Kikipix.com) Christie has tons of energy and can tackle just about anything put in front of her. She also is an encourager. Her motto? Be brave! Go for it!
So I was, and I did. Thank you, Christie, for believing in me!
